Metal roof coatings are an excellent way to protect, restore, and extend the life of an existing metal roof. Over time, metal roofs are exposed to harsh weather conditions such as sun, rain, snow, and temperature changes. These elements can cause the roof to fade, rust, or develop small leaks around seams and fasteners. Instead of replacing the entire roof, applying a protective coating can seal and reinforce the surface while adding years of life to the roofing system.
One of the most common metal roof repairs involves fixing loose or deteriorated fasteners. Metal roofs expand and contract with temperature changes, which can cause screws and fasteners to loosen over time. When fasteners back out or the rubber washers wear down, water can easily enter the roof system and cause leaks. Replacing old fasteners with new gasketed screws and properly sealing them helps restore the watertight integrity of the roof.
